A. Public Transportation

Taxis

You can easily hail a taxi by standing on Al Wasl Road, or you can book one via the Uber or Careem apps on your phone.

Bus

We are located just steps from the bus stop on Al Wasl road. If you stand at the bus stop on our side of the street you can take the #93 bus to the Mall of the Emirates, or the #12 bus to the Al Quoz Bus Station. At the Mall of the Emirates, you can connect to the Dubai Metro as well as other buses. You can connect to other buses at the Al Quoz Bus Station.

If you stand at the bus stop on the other side of Al Wasl Road, you can catch the #12 bus to the Al Ghubaiba Bus Station. You can also catch the #93 bus to City Walk, Al Satwa Bus Station, and Al Ghubaiba Bus Station (where you can connect to other buses). Al Ghubaiba station also has buses going to the other emirates.

All bus stops are air conditioned.

Metro

The closest metro station to us is the Al Safa Metro Station. You can get there in 5 minutes by car or taxi (roughly 12 AED).

Apps

If you download the 2GIS app, you can enter your destination and see the various bus and metro routes that will take you there (you can use the app offline).

The Shail app has bus timings, and also tells you when the next bus will arrive at your stop.

Ticketing

You cannot use cash for the buses and metro in Dubai. You must purchase a ticket via the NOL card, which can be for a single journey, multiple journeys, or even a monthly unlimited pass. You can only purchase a NOL card at metro stations, or main bus stations (such as Al Ghubaiba or Mall of Emirates bus stations).

Car Rental

There are many car rental companies in Dubai, most of which will drop off and/or pick up the rental car for you at your convenience.

B. Groceries

The closest supermarket is Spinneys, located just 500 meters away at the corner of Al Wasl Road and Umm al Sheif Road. You can drive there in 4 minutes from the villa by driving along al Wasl road, making the first available U-turn, making a right at Umm al Sheif road, and then making your first right into the parking lot. You can also easily walk there in under 10 minutes. Spinneys is a high-end supermarket that has everything you could ever need, including Waitrose products. Also, within this shopping centre are two beverage centre stores.

If you prefer, there are two Union Co-Op supermarkets that are a 5 minute drive away: one is at Al Wasl Road and al Thanya street, and the other is at Al Wasl Road and Al Hadiqa Street.

There are two Choitrams supermarkets less than 5 minutes drive away: one is at Al Wasl Road just past Al ManaraRoad (across from J3 Mall), and one is at Al Wasl Road and Al Hadiqa Street.

C. Pharmacy

The closest pharmacy is located at the local Spinneys centre at the corner of Al Wasl Road and Umm al Sheif Road . It is open from 7am until 11pm and the phone number is +971 43949772.

The closest 24 hour pharmacy is the Supercare Pharmacy in the Al Ferdous complex at Al Wasl Road and 19^th Street (5 mins drive). Phone +971 43943595.

Safa 2 Park (3 mins drive, 5 mins Bike, 15min)

• Children’s park, popular with small children

• Named after its popularity for kitesurfing and kayaking
• White sandy beach
• Jogging track, volleyball courts, kids play areas and great restaurants

• Fabulous children’s playground located on a white sandy beach
• Free parking in the adjacent lot
• Located next to the Four Seasons hotel on Jumeirah road, just on the other side of the canal

Jumeirah 3 Harbour (5 mins drive)

• Quiet harbor for small boats at the bottom of Umm al Sheif Road
• Local fish market and several al fresco restaurants, including a lovely seafood restaurant called Seaview
